Historic ruin of the " Sheldon Church," actually the Prince William's Parish Anglican Church, built 1751-7 and partly burned during the American Revolution. It was paid for by LT Gov. William Bull who is buried here, and it is called the Sheldon Church after the name of Bull's plantation. It is located in Beaufort, South Carolina.

This is a carousel in New York City with a sea theme. The children ride on colorful fish. The juxtaposition of the various fish led to some very weird and scifi type images.

We were touring the Oregon Coast and it was rainy and foggy every day and we never had a colorful sunrise or sunset but the seastacks were very dramatic in black & white.

We were driving to the Blue Ridge Parkway and I saw this bridge in fog from the highway so we exited and found a local road down to the bridge. It turns out that this is the longest stone arch masonry bridge in the world. It is located in Marysville, PA.

Blue-winged Teal at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Florida. Floating among the reeds, it is incredibly well camouflaged.

Our annual trip to Blue Cypress Lake to photograph nesting Osprey was overcast and windy. Not the best sunrise but we did manage to get some Osprey photos despite the bouncing of the boat.

On Easter Sunday we went to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville, Florida, with a friend to see what birds were there. Happily, there were quite a few of these beautiful Avocets. The one on the far right is changing into its mating plumage. There were other birds flying around and I debated removing them from the foreground. Then I decided that their blurred images as they flew by actually framed the four Avocets, so I left them in. Do you like them there or would you have removed them?

A vibrant yellow Tropical Kingbird perches delicately on a thin branch, its observant gaze directed slightly upwards. The backdrop is a soft blurred green, highlighting the bird's bright plumage and the intricate details of its feathers.

Ian's webinar on desert photography inspired me to post some photos I took in Namibia in 2011. This was in the Namib desert high on a dune at sunrise.

Following Ian's webinar on desert photography, I decided to post this shot I took in Namibia in 2011. I am wondering if I should have included more of the landscape although it was the sky that captivated me.
