This photo was taken as the sun was rising on Long Beach Island, New Jersey in mid-September. The beach in September is a wonderful place. I used an 18-400mm lens at 18mm to capture the first light of day as the rest of the family was asleep.

I was at this location looking for compositions facing east to capture the alignment of the crescent moon with five planets during the moonrise the next morning. As I was packing up I noticed a storm brewing in the west. I set up my camera and waited for some cars to pass through the highway below.

Taken on the east side of Badlands National Park the morning after a rain. The incline to this keyhole was slippery and when I got up there I managed only this one shot before sliding down and barely saving a mud bath for myself and for certain the camera.
