Sigma Releases a New Sports Lens - 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS
Sigma has joined Sony, Canon, and Tamron with a new lens release. This time, it's for sports photographers, just in time for next year's Summer Olympics. However, the lens is also suitable for wildlife and portrait photographers.
Let's see what Sigma's latest release has to offer.
Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS
The 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS was made for the following full-frame cameras:
Sony E-mount
Panasonic L-mount
Leica L-mount
Some of its key features:
A dual HLA (High-Response Linear Actuator)
Optical Stabilizer function with the OS2 algorithm
Essentially, these features promise to help you take stable photos in any conditions.
Appearance-wise, the Sigma 70-200mm was made with sports photography conditions in mind. The lens promises durability and comfort.
The 70-200mm weighs 1,350 grams (almost 48 ounces). Compared to other sports lenses, it's on the heavier side! Keep this in mind if you're planning to shoot for long periods of time.
You can pre-order Sigma's 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS lens for $1,499 on B&H Photo. It's expected to become available on December 8th.
