Hi everyone, I thought I'd quickly share some photos I took on a recent, short trip to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. I've been thinking about this photo trip for a few months, ever since I photographed some beautiful salt marshes in Ireland using my drone. Once back home, I started doing some research, looking for salt marshes in the U.S. that might be interesting. I quickly focused on the marshes of the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic barrier islands of the mid-Atlantic, two areas I photographed often back when I was living in the Washington, D.C. area. These photos are a good example of taking an idea and finding a way to turn the idea into photographic reality. I started planning using Google satellite views, looking for marshes with intricate patterns that also were close enough to a public place where I could legally launch my drone. Then, I planned a trip when I have a free moment in my schedule. When on location, I started exploring, checking out potential launch places and then scouting for compositions using my drone. Finally, once I had found the spots that seemed to work best, I returned when the light was favorable for the shots I wanted. I had a great time, and I am already planning another trip to some different spots that look favorable!

Fantastic images.
Great lighting and composition.
What was your drone height? What make and model of drone do you fly?
Keep up the great work.
Fabulous images... I love the the soft light and the way it enhances the colours in the images.
The quality of light is incredible, offering perspectives not usually seen. Look forward to the webinar!
