This image was a product of planning and processing. It is focus stacked, star stacked, and in an effort to actually reduce the sense of depth, focal (or perspective) stacked. Because I used a wide-angle lens (16mm) on the foreground/landscape, the forced perspective of the lens rendered the mountains on the horizon as much too small and/or distant. In order to bring them back to a more realistic and pleasing size, I photographed the scene with a 50mm lens (changing the perspective in relation to the other elements) and then blended the mountains with the night sky and the rest of the landscape to complete the scene.
