About the event
Tutorials that demonstrate how to use the digital darkroom typically show you how each tool or feature works, but this is getting it backwards. Any photo processing should start with identifying a clear set of goals for your photo, and then the processing path should flow from there. Too often, photographers who are learning the digital darkroom lack these fundamentals: learning how each processing tool works isn't really all that difficult, but what they are not being taught is why they might want to choose one tool or the other, and what goals they should be trying to accomplish when processing any particular photo.
In this class, pro photographer Ian Plant shares his basic processing workflow using Adobe Lightroom/Camera Raw, but he will be focusing on the "why" more than the "how." He'll share several examples of photos, taking you from the raw file to the finished product, starting with his clear statement of intent for each image. This class will give you a better understanding of how you can approach photo processing as a means to clarify your artistic goals.
