Barren, deserted and surrounded by mountains, nothing like capturing it with one's own eyes. However, a car trouble is a bummer. While the mounatin road twists and turns and disappears sometime, it is a challenge for Google maps, I can vouch. And, lastly thanks to the real BRO! Border Road Organisation of India. It is their tireless work of building and then maintaining the road to Ladakh at treacherous heights, mountain slopes and passes that makes it possible to have thouroughly enjoyable road trip.
