I took this late-winter picture when
water was melting on a largely frozen pond. The water on top of the ice reflected but snow and slush created non-reflective islands. As a result, the image looks like like an old deteriorating photo with areas of texture but no detail. I flipped the image to make the reflected trees appear upright, and flipped the ducks again to put them on their webbed feet. The pond has a bubbler in the center that creates a round area that is not frozen. It is that opening in the ice that appears to be the dark pond with the reflected trees on its shore..
