Panorama of the colorful Hanseatic warehouses from the 14th century in the Bryggen district of Bergen, Norway. They were constructed by the Heanseatic League as part of their trading empire. The primary product here was stockfish or dried cod. The fresh cod was hung on huge drying racks and dried by sun and wind. The racks are still used and visible throughout the Lofoton Islands and stockfish is still sold and eaten here.
